AGRIBUDDY Limited, a company that aims to boost the economic conditions and quality of life for smallholders operating in Cambodia and India, has raised 2.8 Million USD in the Series A round from several investors; Mistletoe Inc. (which was founded by world famous social investor Mr. Taizo Son), Mr. Keisuke Honda (who has just recently been appointed the GM of the Cambodian national football team), Smart Axiata Digital Innovation Fund (which was created by Smart Axiata, the leading mobile telecommunications company in Cambodia), Forte Investment Holdings (one of Cambodia's biggest insurance companies), Index: Design to Improve Life (from Denmark), social entrepreneur Mr. Kazuma Ieiri (who founded Campfire, which is Japan's largest crowdfunding service), and Angel investor Mr. Masakuni Matsumura.
Mr. Keisuke Honda has joined our team as the Head of Ambassadors. Together with Rural Entrepreneurs (group leaders of smallholders), a.k.a. “BUDDYs”, he will motivate smallholders in developing countries, many of whom face difficulties in improving their standard of living. He will strive to inspire smallholders to reach their full potential by never giving up and continuing to expand their horizons.
We also welcome two new board members who will help strengthen our business foundation. Mr. Krishna Manda (former COO of Standard & Poor’s Japan) and Mr. Mervyn Cheo of FORTE (who has tremendous experience and an extensive knowledge of the business operations in South East Asia. With their help we will move towards the next stage.
With the new capital and new team members, AGRIBUDDY will focus on implementing various services and tools to boost the economic conditions and quality of life for smallholders operating in Cambodia and India by delivering AGRIBUDDY’s services. We are aware that a strong and sturdy team is a must in both countries and we are continuously recruiting talented and motivated personnel to join our team.
